WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!

Camping and Caravaning

Minehead Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Hopcott Rd, Minehead TA24 6DJ, UK – 01643 704345

Very quiet site even when full, massive pitches on hardstanding, very clean toilets and showers, wardens are very friendly and helpful. The site is located very close to Minehead and supermarkets, takeaways, the beach etc, you can hear the toot of the steam train every so often, great place.

Pleasant site. We'll situated for walking into Minehead approx 10/15 mins to high street. Local pub about 5 min walk. Serves food. Chinese, Indian and fish and chips even closer.

Duddings Country Cottages

Timberscombe, Nr Dunster, Minehead TA24 7TB, UK – 01643 841123

Nice place. Good pool, great views. Reasonable wifi. Foot access not great if your planning a walking holiday but there is a very handy carpark if you're planning to drive. In theory probably has disabled access in practice there is quite a steep path down from the carpark.

Stayed at Dudding's Country Cottages over the Xmas break. Fantastic setting with well presented accommodation and fabulous facilities for all age groups. Would thoroughly recommend

YHA Minehead

Combe Lodge, Manor Rd, Woodcombe, Minehead TA24 6EW, UK – 0345 371 9033

Friendly place and staff, nice location bit interior but if you have got car then good place to go. Make sure you have got what you need , town centre is 2 miles away.

One of the better hostels in the YHA chain. No shoes policy maintains a nice clean environment indoors while breathtaking scenery enchants you outside. In the middle of lush green forests and paths that lead up to the top of the hill that overlook the sea. Inexpensive self-catering family atmosphere neighbouring butlins holiday camp. WiFi and mobile phone reception in every YHA I've been to so far has been atrocious. It's a forced but pleasant escape away from communication. Payphones are available just take extra 20p coins.
